“Finalmente, uno schermo da coccolare.”

What is truth - my truth, your truth, or the distorted version flickering on our screens?
In the 1980s, as a child in politically and religiously divided Ireland, I would escape into the glow of the television. There were only three channels, and I’d sit cross-legged on the floor, mesmerised by the test pattern, waiting for my favourite children’s show to appear. A rainbow signal would hum in a high-pitched tone, and that static, colourful disc felt like a spiritual transmission, a promise that something magical was on its way!
Back then, TV had limits. Cartoons ended. Broadcasting stopped after 11pm. The screen went dark, and silence filled the room. Looking back, I’m grateful for that pause, a reference point, a signal to know when to switch of… even though the stillness of waiting felt infinite.
Today, that stillness has vanished. Instead of three channels, there are billions of viewpoints, all bombarding the mind and competing for attention 24/7. The pause has been replaced by the endless scroll of social media, where algorithms flood us with noise, shape what we see, and divide how we think. We are more connected than ever, yet also more polarised, distracted, and numb.
TRANSMISSION interrupts that flow. The test pattern reappears not as pixels but as fuzzy carpets, hand-tufted, imperfect and alive. These works are made with hands, not AI. They invite touch, they invite memory. They carry nostalgia, but also healing: a reminder that craft slows us down, takes us out of mass production, and returns us to something simple, human, and real.
This is an invitation to pause, to enter the in-between space, to touch, and to feel.

I cartoni finivano.
TRANSMISSION interrompe quel flusso.
Why are we creative? I’m incredibly honoured to be featured in Creative Paradiso, a bold and visually striking new documentary by Hermann Vaske, celebrating the power and mystery of human creativity.
The film recently premiered at Kant Kino in Berlin and Cupra Garage in Munich, gathering an extraordinary group of boundary-pushing creatives from the worlds of art, film, fashion, and performance.
I’m proud to appear alongside inspiring figures such as: Debi Mazar, Willem Dafoe, Wim Wenders, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Julian Schnabel, Marina Abramović, Shirin Neshat, Paul McCarthy, Lilith Stangenberg, Paola Vojnovic and many more…
Creative Paradiso is also attributed to the late Oliviero Toscani, an Italian icon of provocative, fearless visual storytelling. It’s also a powerful reminder to keep asking these essential creative questions.
I’m grateful to have been featured alongside so many remarkable peers, including special moments captured with Debi Mazar, Mark Reeder and creator Hermann Vaske. Photography by Schah. Watch the trailer and explore the project: www.creativoparadiso.com
